There was a consensus that authenticity is the base brand attribute for building a remarkable personal brand. Being authentic is not something you wear anytime or behaving whatever you need. Authenticity is build by expressing yourself and undertaking the responsibility of anything you do.

Hubert Rampersad said: Having a strong authentic personal brand is an important asset in today’s online, virtual, and individual age. It is the key to personal success, and it’s the positioning strategy behind the world’s most successful people, such as Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, and Bill Gates.

Scott McGrew said in a recent Personal Branding Interview:

It’s hard to really be yourself when thousands or even millions are watching you. Being myself is the only thing I’m any good at – so it’s what I do on TV. That’s true whether you’re working on television or creating an online brand: you MUST be yourself. Viewers and the internet can detect a fake a million miles away. My TV shows are reflections of me and my interests.

Robin Dickinson wrote in a post that inspired from a tweet I responded to him.

Use the moment to remind yourself of the power of your authentic self and to continually seek ways of expressing it in everything you do.

Malcolm Levene wrote about “Why Being Authentic Is Important“, he said:

For most, authenticity is something you learn and develop. Of course there are exceptions, in that some people seem to naturally radiate authenticity. It’s as if it’s attached to their DNA. Contemporary psychologists call this a ‘natural pattern’. It’s a bit like a talent, something you excel in, yet do naturally.

That way you will not only stand out like a shining beacon on the sea of sameness, but also you’ll be sure to make your unique contribution and leave your much needed mark on the world.

Be Authentic: A personal brand should not be a make believe image that you cannot live up to.  Whether you are a billion dollar athlete or not packaging your personal brand in away that is consistent with your lifestyle is important.

Its not surprise that the above experts and many others agreed on that even  a Non Personal Branding Expert can agreed with them. Having authentic character offline is as important as having a reputable online presence. Nothing more nothing less, the real YOU is always winning.

No disagreement here, we all agreed, right?
